Health Canada Recalls 1,200 Al Fakher Pro Vape Kits Over Missing Child-Resistant Packaging

Health Canada has recalled about 1,200 Al Fakher Pro Refill Device Kits for lacking child-resistant packaging, warning that ingested nicotine liquid can cause serious poisoning. Health Canada has recalled roughly 1,200 Al Fakher Pro Refill Device Kits sold across the country for failing to meet federal packaging rules for vaping products, citing the poisoning risk posed by nicotine liquid if it is accessed by children.

The recall notice, published on Oct. 19, covers the Al Fakher Refill Pro Device Kit, a Crown Bar hookah-style, reusable, open-fill pod system designed for mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung vaping, produced by Genuine Distribution of Windsor, Ontario. The affected kits were sold in six colours — Crimson Red, Midnight Black, Sunset Orange, Mint Green, Pure White and Ocean Blue — each with a 20 mL capacity, and were sold in Canada from December 2025 through September 2026.

The recalled products do not meet the packaging requirements of the Vaping Products Labeling and Packaging Regulations, made under the Canada Consumer Products Safety Act. Health Canada warned that vaping substances containing nicotine present a poisoning risk if ingested, and that inappropriate packaging such as missing child-resistant closures can lead to unintentional exposure and cause serious illness or injuries, including death.

As of Oct. 15, 2026, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the products. Health Canada advised consumers to stop using the recalled kits and dispose of them, and to consult a health-care professional if the product was swallowed, inhaled or came into contact with skin or eyes.

The recall is one of a series of packaging- and labelling-driven actions Canadian regulators have taken against vaping products, where compliance failures around child-resistant closures and nicotine warnings have drawn enforcement even when no product defect has been reported. Al Fakher, a hookah and shisha brand long established in the Middle East, has been expanding its open-system vape range internationally in recent years.
